Chatbots
A chat bubble on your site — support, marketing or both — answering from your knowledge base, escalating to tickets and capturing leads.
Installations and bots
/chatbots/installations — which of your sites have chatbots. /chatbots — the bots on the selected site.
Creating a bot
- Type — Support (answers from the knowledge base, escalates when it cannot), Marketing (guides the visitor towards a call to action and captures their details), or Hybrid.
- Name and persona — how it introduces itself and speaks.
- Pages — show it site-wide with exclusions, or only on the pages you list.
- Call to action — for marketing bots, the goal to steer towards.
Save, and the bubble appears on the chosen pages; nothing to embed.
What it knows
A support or hybrid bot is given the best-matching articles from your knowledge base and the visitor-facing pages of this guide for each question. If it cannot answer from those, it offers a ticket form inside the chat.
Lead capture
A marketing or hybrid bot, when the visitor is ready, shows a lead form in the chat; the submission becomes a lead like any opt-in. See Opt-in forms and leads.
Conversations
/chatbots?tab=conversations — every session with its messages, so you can see what visitors ask and where the bot fell short.
Chatbots versus agents
A chatbot is for visitors, on the public site, with a narrow job. An agent is for you, signed in, with tools. See Your agents.
