APACS overview

Another Prospect Acquisition and Conversion System — how leads, prospects, users, lists, scripts and sequences fit together.

APACS is the platform's answer to "how do I capture people and turn them into customers". /apacs is its dashboard.

The people model

  • Lead — one opt-in form submission. A person who fills in three forms has three leads.
  • Prospect — the person those leads belong to. Created the first time an unknown address arrives; all later leads link to it.
  • User — a prospect who registered or bought. A user always wins: if an address belongs to a member, the lead links to the member, not to a new prospect.

Newsletters, the store and flows all use this one model, so a customer is never in two address books.

Lists, scripts and sequences

  • List — a named group of people to mail. See Prospects and lists.
  • Script — a prewritten email (subject, body, placeholders). See Mailing scripts and sequences.
  • Sequence — a flow of send-email and delay steps; a person enrolled in it is a subscriber to that sequence, and a traveller carries them through it. See Flows.

The menu

  • Dashboard — counts and recent activity.
  • Flows / Steps — the sequences, as flows.
  • Funnel — drop-off and A/B conversion for a flow.
  • Prospects · Subscribers · Leads · Lists — the people.
  • Mailing scripts — the emails.
  • Send mailing — a one-off send of a script to a list.

Consent

Every address on a list has a source and a consent time. Unsubscribe links are added to every sequence email and every newsletter; a person who unsubscribes is suppressed everywhere. See Newsletters.
